2008 Season
The Bison Win their First League Title
The Bison showed from the first pitch of the 2008 season that this was their year. They won the regular season title with a 16-4 mark, and fought their way through the playoffs to sweep defending champions TESCO in the Finals en route to the fifth year squads first league Title. The Bison also dominated the post-season awards with Tim Campbell earning the Coach of the Year Award, Ian Beezub bringing home the Ed Smerkar Award for his outstanding work on the hill, and Josh Fyffe was selected as the League's Most Valuable Player.
Butera's Towing ended their Sophomore Season the same as the year before with a second place regular season finish and first round playoff bye. The Jamestown squad battled all year to a 16-4 mark and lost in the playoff round to TESCO two games to one. Scrappy offense and solid defense provided the cornerstone the New Yorker's solid pitching rotation needed to guide the squad to it's second consecutive #2 mark. Harrington Industrial Laundry also finished the season with a 16-4 mark, but lost the first round playoff nod to a head to head advantage with Butera's Towing. The Laundrymen boasted a strong rotation and solid line-up, but fell short in the wild-card series two games to one to TESCO to end their season.
Nagy's Tree Farm balled to a 13-7 mark behind a solid rotation of young hurlers. The fifth year squad earned a post season bid for the fifth consecutive season, but fell to ECCA in the Wild Card Round. ECCA ended with a 12-8 mark and claimed the first wild-card slot. The fourth year squad came within a run or returning to the finals, but fell to the Bison. ECCA disbanded after the 2009 season. TESCO completed a mediocre 11-9 regular season, but fought through each playoff stage before ultimately being swept in the finals by the Bison.
Millers/Braendel Painting finished just outside of the playoff picture with a 9 and 11 mark, despite a strong second half showing. Knox Law and rookie squad York-Seaway finished the season at 8-12 and each made big strides in building competitive squads. The Urban Engineer Royals fought hard all season, and despite winning some big upsets, ended the season with a 5-15 mark. Creative Imprint Systems finished the season with a zero in the win column.
