2003, 2005, 2006 & 2007 Glenwood League Champions

7/17/08 -Congratulations to Corey and Bernadette Walters & TESCO's 2008 draft pick - Dominic Ryan Walters

TESCO formed in 1993 and got off to a rocky start with a 1-19 inaugural season. It took a few years to get the team moving in the right direction, and the 1998 campaign marked the first of nine post season appearances including the league Regular Season Titles in 2003 & 2007, Divisional Titles in 2004 & 2005, and four Glenwood League Championship Titles.

TESCO's fifteen seasons mark the second longest active Glenwood sponsorship in the circuit today behind long time rival Harrington Industrial Laundry. In a decade and a half the team has compiled a 163-138 regular season record. The return to wood bats has suited the squad well, with four league titles and numerous individual honors. In August 2003 TESCO earned the WSEE 35 Team of the Week honor, and again in 2005, 2006 & 2007 WICU TV12 honored the squad with the Team of the Week.

Three active members have been with the team since its begining in 1993. Head Coach Craig Montgomery has earned five Glenwood Coach of the Year Awards in his fifteen year tenure. John Fette and Fred Veith have also endured the fifteen season swing from the basement to the title. First baseman Veith was voted onto the All-Star Team five times, twice as a starter, and earned a 1st team All-Glenwood Honor in 2001. Third baseman Fette is a nine time All Star, five as a starter, in addition to nine All-Glenwood Selections, four of which were first team. All three will be returning for the 2008 season. Original team member Shawn Montgomery returned last season and earned a 2nd team all-Glenwood award. Shawn dislocated his shoulder this spring, but is expected to return mid-summer.

Long time utilityman Dave Meyner has earned six All-Star selections, five All-Glenwood Honors, three of which were 1st team, and was voted League Most Valuable Player in 2001 and 2005. Dave will be returning in 2008.  Dave Lanagan will also be returning for his 10th season splitting time as a utilityman and in the pitching staff. Returning for his third year at shortstop is the sure handed defensive specialist Chris HayJoe Ermilio returns for his second season and will be handling the duties at second base. Second year player Tony Dippolito will be returning in a utility role splitting time between first base, outfield and as a designated hitter.

Forth year Centerfielder Lee Rohan was voted to the All-Star Team as a starter for the third straight season, and added another All-Glenwood 1st Team. Lee was honored as WICU 12's Athlete of the Week on August 17th 2005. He was also selected as the 2006 Most Valuable Player. Lee was recently released from the Chillicote Paints of the Frontier League after a very good spring season. Left fielder Corey Walters will return for his 12th season and has earned 5 trips to the All-Star Game, three as a starter, and two All-Glenwood 2nd team honors. Walters is one of the steadiest defenders in the TESCO outfield. Brian King played his sixth season in a TESCO uniform in 2007 adding a sixth trip to the All-Star game, and another selection to the All-Glenwood team. King earned the Batting Title in 2003 and is well known for his rifle arm from the outfield. Brian also won the 2007 All-Star Game Homre Run Derby. Former Villa Maria standout Nick Attaway will join the outfield corp and fill in where needed.

The heart of the TESCO success in recent years has been the outstanding pitching staff. Right hander Matt Palisin has compiled a 28-10 regular season record in his seven TESCO Seasons with a 1.28 ERA. Matt was named to the All-Star team five times and voted to the All-Glenwood team five times. Palisin has been over powering in the post season compiling a 12-2 record. Ryan Frederick moved in the offseason after a very successful career with TESCO.  Ryan was named the 2003 Most Valuable Player in addition to four All-Star trips, including 3 starts, and four All-Glenwood 1st Team appearances. Frederick has also has an outstanding post-season record of 9-2.  "Hoover" will still be available with his strong right arm and a full cooler of beverages. Former Behrend righty Ryan Smith will be returning to the TESCO rotation for his third season. Smitty won two regular season games as well as the opening game in the 2007 Championship Series. Returning to the Blue and Gray is hard throwing righty Randy Norman, and new to the squad this season is former Behrend lefty Ray DeVaul. Cementing the pitching battery behind the dish is former Behrend standout Gabe Stephenson. Gabe will be the full time backstop this season replacing TESCO great Jorge Melendez.
